Meet the doctor
Dr. Maxemiliano
Alcantar, D.C.
A decade of hands-on work before he ever adjusted a spine. That order matters, and it shows up in every visit.
A background most chiropractors don't have
Dr. Max came to chiropractic the long way around. Five years as a personal trainer focused on post-rehab care and sport-specific performance, then five years as a licensed massage therapist treating chronic pain patients, athletes, and high-performing professionals. Four of those years he ran his own studio, two of them working alongside physical therapists.
Those years taught him something that's hard to learn from a textbook: how tissue actually responds under the hands, week after week, in people whose pain had already outlasted someone else's plan. He learned to read a body, and to load one, before he learned to adjust one.
He earned his doctorate from Southern California University of Health Sciences and opened NERV Chiropractic in early 2026, built around the way he already worked. Assessment before treatment. Hands before equipment. And the question is always the same one: not just where it hurts, but why it started and why it keeps coming back.
How he practices
One patient at a time
Visits are 30 or 60 minutes, one-on-one, start to finish. No rooms running in parallel, no handing you off to a table and a timer.
Assessment first
Every plan starts with history, movement screening, and orthopedic and neurological testing. If the diagnosis is a guess, the treatment is too.
Hands, then tools
Soft tissue work, adjustments, Cox flexion-distraction and rehab all get used, but only where the exam says they belong.
Training is part of treatment
Five years of coaching before the doctorate means loading comes with the plan, not after it. Getting out of pain and getting capable are the same project.
